In the early days of Shizhuo, Chiayi, residents earned income mainly from picking daylily, bamboo shoots and odd jobs.
By chance, they discovered that Shizhuo's climate and geography were ideal for growing tea, and under the Lin brothers' leadership, tea growing began. The tea garden was built from nothing, and out of care for the land, with soil and water conservation in mind, stone bricks were stacked piece by piece following the terrain. They became the first tea farmers in the Shizhuo area.
